The Village Store

It was a girls night out tonight, to say farewell to the lovely Amy, who has left one of my practices for pastures new.

A meal was booked at a quirky little place called The Village Store in Helmshore; it was exactly that....a corner shop!
At the back of the shop though, is the restaurant part and I learned that this place was so popular for its food, that the owners opened a second, proper restaurant in Haslingden called The Firepit.
Amy had actually tried to book us in for there originally, but its popularity is such that it can be difficult to get a table.

This was a great second choice though!

The majority of us went for the steak on a stone, which was fabulous apart from it spitting at us! Dessert was a round of shots before we headed into town for more drinks.

We had a good laugh and Rawtenstall is certainly different to Accrington. By the time we got a taxi home at 2pm, the place was just getting going, but my feet had had enough for one night!
