Kingfisher!

This afternoon I went to Venus Pool Nature Reserve. On going into the hide, this beautiful kingfisher was perched on a stick. It only stayed around for a few seconds but it was just long enough to get a quick shot.

The extra photo is of one of a pair of green sandpipers. One of the lapwings kept following them and sending them off which was a shame. 

Another highlight was when we walked past a tree and must have disturbed a barn owl as it flew away from us. There was only got a view of it's back end unfortunately!
