Sunset Miss Pick Up

The warm pink glow of the sunset over the beautiful big bird that is the Royal Canadian Air Force Catalina (featuring Miss Pick Up) was the perfect end to a scorching hot day at Combined Ops. Commentating aviation and ground action all day was non-stop fun helped by friendly pilots, re-enactors and a great event crew.

My highlights were meeting Ed from Kelly's Heroes and a photo for his 85th birthday; witnessing an impressive recreation of a beach landing in August 1944 by the ferocious Japanese against the US Marines on the Mariana Islands; fish and chips with the Royal Netherlands Air Force Historic Flight and finally spending time with my Mum and Dad and my friends Helen and Warren.
