Protest

I went down to support a protest this afternoon at the French Embassy. It was a protest against the imposition of a burkini ban in France (a burkini is garment that covers the body yet allows you to swim).

I was incensed by the story of French police forcing a muslim woman to disrobe on the beach because her garment was considered religious dress. This being a crime in a secular society.

There are lines to be drawn and this isn't one of them.

Sadly I saw just one woman, a disabled woman with  a young  girl hiding in the shadows behind her. She showed me her face to make her point.
