Wild Rambling in Haltwhistle

Here is my lovely friend, Helen Venus, with a few photobombers. Helen runs a small walking company called Wild Rambling. She arranges lovely walking holidays and her current one is based in Haltwhistle.

We met on a walking holiday in Bulgaria and I've walked with Helen a few times since then. Her holidays are always a lot of fun. This week there are 12 woman walking with her. Tonight there were 2 guests for dinner: Anita, a landscape photographer from the Northumberland coast,  and me.

I gave Helen the spatula you see in the photograph. It turned out to be a very popular present. The tag around the neck says "Oh No! Not the soup!"  Tim Foxall in Haltwhistle makes these in his small workshop as a commercial venture.

This morning saw the first photo class of the series. Our group has had two withdrawals and two additions so it will be interesting to see how that pans out. We all showed our summer projects. There was some excellent work to see.

This afternoon I provided the technical support for Humshaugh Mothers' Union where Margret was giving a talk about the diocesan pilgrimage to Iona. I just looked after the projector. She gave a very interesting talk with photos that illustrated her talk.

Tomorrow the preparations for THE party begin in earnest.
