Pitcher Plant Sarracenia

While visiting the Kibble Palace in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens this morning I dared to enter the 'Killer Plant' zone.

My first encounter with Pitcher plants which are carnivorous.  The deep cavity at the base of the leaf is filled with a digestive fluid .... Yeuch!  Fortunately there was no sign of any digestive activity going on!

I rather liked the warning sign on the door.
