I walked the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway south from our house in search of bears. I saw one adult bear and a cub. First in an open grassy area that was the right-of-way for the sewer line and then I saw the mother and child cross the Koksilah River.

On the walk home I met a second bear cub that crossed the railway tracks in the direction of two old apple trees next to the tracks.
