Sgwarnog: In the Field

Silkmen

Guiseley's miserable start to the season continued, going down 2-1 at home to the Silkmen of Macclesfield Town.  That's now twelve games (a quarter of the season) without a win, and only three points gained.

Both Macc's goals were wind assisted with high,  hanging balls being snapped up and dispatched. The second was scored by Ollie Norburn, a Guiseley player last season, and this image sees the Macclesfield players celebrate in front of their boisterous traveling support.

Jordan Preston got a good goal back, and it looked like the Lions might get an equaliser, but a disallowed effort was the closest they came.  Maintaining National League status for a third season is beginning to look a distant prospect.
