The long drive home
Yesska had arranged to meet her friend in Peterborough on the way home so I took the opportunity to hit a fossil site that I visited a couple of months ago. I'd forgotten how secluded it was, and got a bit scared! It was just me, Bruno, the ducks and fossils. The ground was very wet and the clay was really sticky, but I loved it and even Bruno behaved himself. Found a beautiful ammonite within 5 minutes of arriving! Only spent an hour there but found about 7 ammonites, loads of worm tubes, belemnites and gryphaea. I left when the thunder and lightening started in the distance and I remembered that it would get dark soon and started to freak out again. I'm such a wuss! Didn't get home until 9pm - it was a very long day.
