George Washington Masonic Temple

....in Alexandria, Virginia.  It sits high on a hill overlooking the city and the National Harbor in Maryland, across the Potomac.  This was the site of a concert we attended this afternoon, performed by a local chamber orchestra, many of whose members are also in the National Symphony. They played two crowd pleasers:  Beethoven's Violin Concerto and Mendelsohn's Symphony No. 4 "Italian."  The acoustics were wonderful and it was so special to hear this in such an intimate setting and have a chance to chat with some of our friends from the European tour last Feb.

The weather was quite warm and summerlike, but very windy as you can see by the wispy clouds in this image.  This building was built sometime in the 1920's and 30's.

(It has taken me a week, but I finally caught up on my blips.)
