Quite a close encounter...

.. with deer at Fountains Abbey this morning. This shot and the extra were taken from the car park, which was a rare treat.

We had a short walk around the lake and I noticed the scene in the second extra. I decided it was worth a shot. 

But, if you are intending taking this sort of candid shot, I found out it isn't wise to have a ten year old grandson in tow. In this case, with camera to my eye, a voice shouted 'Grandad, why are you photographing that man?' Fortunately the man in question must have been more fast asleep than I realised, because there was no reaction at all.
