Prickly

Out first thing to meet up with sis at the care home to clear the room; little room for sentiment in business. That done, we repaired to Montpelier's for lunch.
Back to view the latest garden developments - up at the top fence we were originally looking at whin, then sea buckthorn and we've now settled with Prickly Heath, a lovely native plant from errr South America.
Later out to see 2016 Bertrand Tavernier's Voyage à travers le cinéma français ('extremely entertaining' according to the Filmhouse). Two hours in, and I was getting extremely fidgety.. still over an hour to go…. two sets of subtitles to keep up with (the translation/the film and year) and sitting quite near the front began to take their toll. That and the fact that the whole film was a monstrous conceit of Demarco proportions. Time to leave. Phew. My fault. That's quite enough of anything called a cineaste’s treat.

Thanks so much to everyone on here for the thoughtful and kind comments yesterday - they’re very much appreciated.
