Life's Little Moments

By dbifulco

Oh good - you're back

....now please fill the feeders, madame!  (American Goldfinch in winter plumage)

A brisk day, but it felt good to be outside with camera in hand watching the comings and goings of birds and squirrels.  Hearing the little soft peeps and chirps, the occasional plaintive notes of the white-throated sparrow and the rustling of little birds and squirrels in the fallen  leaves...music to my ear.  Two more pics from today starting HERE on Flickr - a squirrel and the ever-adorable red-breasted nuthatch.

After lunch, Hubs and I took a nice 2 mile walk through some woods and fields - ran into a naturalist friend so had a nice chat with him.  Afterwards, we ran a few errands and are now tucked into our nice warm house with fire blazing.

We had such a lovely visit with our nephew and family over the last couple of days.  Glad they live close enough that we can see them somewhat regularly.  We are all trying to process the loss of my brother-in-law in our own ways, but I feel that there is a lot of comfort in remembering him together.  It felt good to share stories, memories, even the tears.

We are only home for a few days, so much to do.  The Tinies will be traveling with us to Alabama, as I expect I'll need some creative inspiration in what is going to be a pretty sad trip.

Thanks for stopping by - your comments mean a great deal to me right now.
