Gillipaw's Journal

By Gillipaw

JJ Gilmour

Over at Berits and Brown at Eurocentral this evening for JJ Gilmour's latest album launch.  He made his debut back in 1989 with The Silencers.  He now has a solo career.  One gifted musician and songwriter.

"Dix" (ten in French).  Ten tracks made possible by loads of fans and friends supporting the project. A very personal set of songs. He talked about each one, and what had inspired his words.

Highlight for me has to be Track 7 "I guess that's why they call it moving on". And Jinky turning up in black tie and dinner jacket certainly made the evening.

Stressful journey there and back though.  Sat nav didn't seem to know about all the roadworks and road closures at Eurocentral.  A bit of a mystery tour.

More about JJ here.  And a extra of Graeme Duffin who accompanied on one of the tracks.

First time in a while my heavy lens has been out to a gig.
