Shepshed Community Christmas

The third of the annual Shepshed Community Christmas events was held at St Botolph's Church this evening.

Elaine and David Stevenson who started the 'tradition' of involving Shepshed personages in the re-enactment of the Nativity three years ago have passed the baton on to Robin Popley, who brought together several of the personalities who have been involved in previous years and two choirs, with quite a bit of technical support from lighting and sound technicians and a small band.

This year's story was different. Amber asked Father Christmas for a present that would help the whole world, at which point the  three wise men arrived in Bethlehem. Perhaps symbolic of the tradition of present giving rather than the more mystical meaning of a divine birth.

I'd been asked to take photos. It helped immensely that there were lights on the front but even so, several shots were blurred. I should have used a faster shutter speed.

I also made my Christmas cake. Yum, yum. This necessitated a trip to Wilko this morning to buy a tin of the right size. Am impressed the stocking fillers you can find in Wilko.
