The Blackcountry Man

Only 12 feet to Go....

And then there was none, all gone every bit of my lovely works, the guys will only be here until Thursday and then they go to another Job. I don't blame them as it is how they make a living, at least we were not Bankrupt and all our people got redundancy and some have got other jobs but I don't think anyone has the same remuneration.

But what is really lost is the friendships that were made over 20, 30 and even 40 years, and some like me who were here for only a short period, 4 years in my case, although I have been with this company for 11 years.
I could write a book about the things that have happened to me over the years in Brick Works, some Bad, but most I remember with a smile and sometimes even an out and out laugh.
I don't know how much longer I have to go before I leave the industry forever, as I am now on a month to month contract, but with only 800,000 bricks now on stock it won't be much more than two months.
Then will I be know as Ex-Brick Maker, EBM doesn't sound too good, it makes me sound as I come from Ilkla Moor Baht 'at, eee By Gum...

Anyhow I will continue to document the destruction of my little works.

Looks better in BIGGER
