Cheers Nick!

What a great job Chrissie (his wife) has done to arrange the surprise party for Nick's 70th birthday. This was the main reason for our weekend in Milford-on-Sea and also the reason why I've been a little secretive about my exact location. I don't think Nick sees my blip or Facebook entries but you can never be too sure.

I've known Nick since 1962 when he joined the first band i ever played in. I include a photo from that period as an extra. Nick is playing drums and that's me second from the left. Nick went on to take his place in rock history when working for EMI records he signed the Sex Pistols to the label. It lasted for 3 months until their infamous appearance on the Bill Grundy show after which EMI grandees felt it necessary to let them go.

We had a great time with lots of memories from all the guests and finishing with a very enjoyable jam session.
