Testing

Occasionally I am driving along beside Loch Fyne, turn a corner and come upon a large vessel (usually but not always military) cruising on the upper reaches.

This is HMS St Albans which was manoeuvring off Inveraray mid afternoon as I came back from Lochgilphead.

Apparently there is something in this area called the "Loch Fyne Noise Range" which records the acoustic signature of ships and the top end of the range lies at the pontoon you can see on the right hand side of the picture.

The yellow item is a fixed Admiralty mooring and HMS St Albans was still on it as darkness fell and I drove along the other side of the loch on my way home.
