Basildon Park

Back Blip

I met with fellow Blipper and good friend June Fox at Basildon Park, near Reading. 
We thought we'd walk to the house from the car park, as opposed to catching the buggy. Big mistake! We got lost in the woods for nearly two hours! 
In our defence, it was extremely foggy, so we couldn't see anything. We could only get intermittent mobile reception, so the 'location' feature on the phones wouldn't work either. 
As luck would have it, out of the fog appeared a very friendly NT volunteer, who kindly pointed us in the right direction. It could only happen to us :)

The house, when we finally made it, was decorated for Christmas but the volunteers said that it wasn't as lavish as previous years. 
Dinner was eaten in Pangbourne, near the river. 
A thoroughly good day.
