Singing the blues

From smoky jazz clubs to a genteel cathedral hall on a Sunday afternoon – that’s singer Alison Affleck who this afternoon appeared with the Dick Lee Swingtet, performing in Dunblane cathedral hall, part of the winter season of the Dunblane Cathedral Arts Guild.
 
Alsion has an impressive voice- and track record to go with it.  She left Dundee to go to California and from there spent time in New Orleans.
 
Now I confess I know little about jazz but even I was bowled over by her voice. 
 
A quick search on Google revealed in 2013 she won the award for the best jazz vocalist in the Scottish Jazz Festival.
 
So we were lucky to hear her in Dunblane this afternoon.
