A Small Comfort

For a little while today, I left behind the constant barrage of "news" from Washington, D.C., and focused on this tiny feather.

It was dropped by one of our resident Downy Woodpeckers -- possibly this one. Measuring 1-3/8 inches / 3.5 cm, this feather is indeed tiny, but so rich in textural variety!

Thanks goes to jensphotos for hosting Tiny Tuesday; click on the link to see her stunning verdant photo.

(And heartfelt thanks to those who commented and left stars and hearts on my march  blip -- I hope to thank all of you individually, as that experience meant a great deal to me, as did your comments.)
