Moth Monday

This is a red-lined Geometrid (Crypsiphona ocultaria). Looks fairly plain from this angle but the underside is quite spectacular.  Sadly I didn't get to photograph that bit, but I did catch a glimpse as it flew off.

I have discovered this last few weeks that the stone wall on the front of our house is quite a haven for all sorts of different insects.  So, whenever I let Mishy out you will see me gazing at the front wall - just to see what's there.

Sadly I got the ID of my plant yesterday quite wrong, so I shall go back and fix it.  But I know that this one is right :))
