Walk leader training

It was a beautiful sunny day, but instead of being out walking, this group of volunteers were on a day's training as walk leaders and backups. There were 7 new people and 2 who came along for a refresher.

Harry runs the training and I interrupt and add in bits and pieces help out. We've done a few now and always enjoy them. People usually have similar concerns about what the role entails. There is always someone with good ideas about how we might improve things too.

As of this morning we had 540 Festival walk bookings out of a possible 700, plus 48 booked for the Social evening. I wonder if we can achieve a full house?

While I was in Haltwhistle, the engineer from Grant boilers came to see why our new much too expensive boiler has been cutting out. He and our plumber were at the house for a few hours. It now seems that the boilerman they sent to replace some faulty parts did not install them correctly and the boiler has been coking. We now wait for the next set of tests on Monday. Ever wished you had kept an old piece of equipment??

I'm a bit tired now!

Mum continues to do well.
