Reedbed Fox

Dull and cold, I wrapped up warm and went for a walk at Amwell. No treecreepers or goldcrests on the walkway today. When I went into the James hide the first bird I saw was a lovely marsh tit. It soon scarpered and didn't return. I hung about in case and got some nice reed bunting images. As I was about to leave a fox trotted across the channel in the distance, stopping first to look in my direction and then to do a wee.

Today's poem is Sonnet by Elizabeth Bishop https://www.poemhunter.com/poem/sonnet-1928/

It's on the theme of 'music hath charms to soothe the savage breast'. The last line makes me think of Rocked In The Cradle Of The Deep. Music doesn't do it for me like it does EB. I like the alliterative line, "To the subaquaeous stillness of the sea,"
