Laid Bare....

I've photographed this stag beetle sculpture a few times before. It first appeared in 2015, and has now weathered, and there's a distinct lack of foliage surrounding it. 

The reason for this lack of foliage is all down to Capability Brown. He designed the landscape at Trentham Gardens and the current garden team are trying to open up the landscape around the lake to emulate his design ideas. It looks a bit bare and empty at the moment, as they've only just cleared it of trees and shrubs. But you can't design and grow a garden overnight....
