Sunset over Park of Keir

Out for a walk to recover from jetlag.

Meet some friends.
“Have you heard the news?”
“What?”
“Judy Murray has put her house on the market.”

Well, yes I had. It’s the “talk of the steamie”- Judy Murray has fought the locals for the last couple of years with her controversial plan to build a tennis academy on Park of Keir , the Greenbelt between Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, despite fierce opposition including online petitions going into three thousand and over 1,000 letters sent to Stirling Council.

There has been a Public Inquiry and the Scottish Government are now making the final decision.

So what does it mean when she suddenly puts her four-bedroom mansion on the market after less than three years living there? The reason given in the media is that she is “downsizing” and she wants to spend more time “down south” because of work and to be near Andy Murray and her granddaughter.

This does not sound like the action of a woman committed to developing a tennis academy as a legacy for him in Scotland.

We are holding our breath. Too soon to pop the champagne corks yet.
