Rainbow over Dunblane

Well, Spring is on the way....

Just back from seeing the film Trainspotting2. Had expected it to have more gratuitous violence than it was. In fact it portrayed, albeit in a heighted reality way, a certain kind of life: lots of black comedy in the underbelly of society. The surprise is that its set in Edinburgh not Glasgow where such stuff is taken for granted.
Certainly worth seeing.

I remember the horror and shock of the first Traisnpotting  film when I worked on a newspaper in Glasgow. A coterie of the paper's  jpournalists went to see it and came back appalled at the language and scenes of drug abuse.

Tonight I doubt if those same people would have even remarked on it, so attuned have we become to violence and drug abuse .
