Dewy Wood Anemone

I squeezed in a quick early morning trip to Thorpe Wood  which has burgeoned since my last visit. Wood anemones, early dog--violets and primroses are all in bloom, and I was surrounded by birdsong, including the first chiffchaff of the year.

The rest of the day was spent preparing for an adventure to slightly warmer climes, though perhaps not that different from the weather in Peterborough today, which reached the dizzy heights of 17C.
