Heading for Retirement

The Royal Navy Lynx Helicopter first entered service in 1976 and is being retired this month. Four Mk8 helicopters from RNAS Yeovilton made a 5-hour farewell tour to key sites around the West Country including Rolls-Royce, Filton, which is where I captured this image. The Gem engines were supplied and supported by Rolls-Royce and I've had some personal involvement over the last 12 months or so. Quite emotional for those remaining team members who've supported the aircraft over many years, some for decades.
