Bluebird at the Marsh

Is it the bluebird of happiness? Well, I can't guarantee that it is, but it sure made ME smile, so here is the photo. :-)

It was my first visit to the marsh since the official start of spring. Conditions were mild and the birds were active. I heard my first red-winged blackbirds, then saw them.

A couple of small, blue birds flitted past me on the boardwalk. I snapped a picture as this one settled onto a cat-o-nine-tails in front of a nesting box.

The soundtrack: the Rosebuds, with Blue Bird.

P.S. Those who are interested may learn more about the eastern bluebird on the Cornell Lab of Ornithology website.
