If you can't beat them...

A host of.........

At daffodil time each year we make a point of calling at Glencoyne bay on Ullswater to see how the daffodils are doing.  For those who don't know these are the daffodils (well the descendants) that inspired Wordsworth to pen the lines:

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high oer vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze

How he was lonely when walking with Dorothy his sister is beyond me.

Despite the number of times I have seen them it was only really this year that I realised how different they are to the cultivars.
