Otford Solar System Model

Another successful road trip/geocaching expedition/pub visit/Chester match.

Today I made the long journey down to Bromley with Rick to watch Chester. As usual we stopped off to do a few geocaches beforehand. The main aim was to complete a cache at Otford Recreation ground which I had unsuccessfully attempted on the way back from Maidstone last month.  It is based on what is reputedly the largest scale model of the solar system in the world and this time I succeeded in completing it.

Todays blip is a selfie of my reflection in the model of the sun.

After a quick drink in the Greyhound at Keston we made our way to Bromley where Chester won 1-0 with a goal in the 88th minute. After watching them lose the last three games to goals in the 89th, 91st and 84th minutes it made a very welcome change and all but ensures safety from relegation. The fact that the game was completely rubbish and should have finished 0-0 somehow makes it even more enjoyable.

My extra is the terracing behind the goal after the ground had emptied. It is a proper old fashioned ground and a very friendly club.

All in all an enjoyable day out
