Quietly Probing the Depths of Space

Mother's Day today - so we have been to Congleton to see Baby Alice and her mother.  I just couldn't resist :-) so check my 'extra' for a Baby Alice Blip.
Jodrell Bank is on our route home, and I could not resist that either - so we drove by for a Blip.
This is the Lovell Radio Telescope - built in 1957 - it has a diameter of 76.2m, weighs 3,200 tonnes and is one of the biggest and most powerful radio telescopes in the world.
A fascinating place - but I have never visited.  That will be remedied this year.
