Memorial shoes

This is art: shoes on the side of the Danube river.

A memorial for the Hungarian Jews, who were made to take their shoes off and stand on the edge of the Danube to be shot (so their bodies would be taken downstream by the river). Read it here.

Hungary has a very grisly history, I never realised until now.
