Measuring up?

It's funny and annoying that you see something and you think to yourself "That will make a good photo". When in fact when you try to capture the scene as you saw it with your eyes it is nigh on impossible. 
I saw this wooden rule on a wood surface and with mu eyes it seemed to blend in "camouflaged" you might say. But i just couldn't convey the same view that I saw no matter what angle I tried to capture it from. Annoying but fun.
