Crazy About Birds

Hermit Thrush

I was gobsmacked to see this fellow - my charming Hermit Thrush - out under the maple tree this morning. I thought he left and headed north to his breeding grounds as I haven't seen him in weeks and weeks. But no! There he was bopping around picking sunflower hearts off the ground.

Meanwhile, the American Goldfinch males are busy turning bright yellow and there was the usual amazing crowd of them all over the place. The extra is - or will be, once I get the silly thing to upload - a portion of the gang all over the feeder that's filled with the Niger seed that the finches love.
