Chaffinch (male)

We took a wonderful full-day tour to the Wicklow mountains south of Dublin.  This chaffinch was on the patio of our stop for morning coffee at Avoca Weavers, probably hoping to find bits of food.  Chaffinches are probably the most common songbird in much of Europe; I have other images but this is pretty good--just with my point-and-shoot.

Irish music and step dancing for a late evening, so I'm posting this the next day just before leaving for the airport. Perhaps I'll get an extra up from there.

Edit two days later: I've added an extra showing a characteristic view, around noon. Don't miss it--it fills the screen :)
