Dandy bird

Being a perfectionist is a blessing and a curse. Mum and I are both inclined this way and we like things to be "just so".  Mum has been secretly stitching a Dandy Bird for me as an extra Easter present. She can hardly hold a needle these days and she is not at all happy with the stitching. (Many another would be pleased with it, but not Rene!)

She did manage to stitch a card using ribbon to fashion tulips. (The text is not uneven, it's the high angle I've used for the image.) She also made me a card from Bowlby, who likes to be in on everything.

You can see the message that came with the bird!!!

We went to Hexham this afternoon to do clothes shopping. Mum found one pair of trousers and I came away with 3 tops and 1 pair of trousers. How did that happen?  (Beales have a lot of clothes in at the moment.)

I woke this morning feeling fine but 30 minutes later my nose started streaming. I assume it is hayfever, but I've been at it all day despite antihistamines and decongestants. Hope it's not a cold.........

PS The Dandy Bird design is by Maggie Smith, textile artist. and a friend of Mum's. She has an exhibition called Temporal Layers on in Durham in the World Heritage Site Visitor Centre. It ends on 29th April.
