a lifetime burning

Brush strokes

After last night's late finish, we've had a slower day today, unsurprisingly.  The weather is lovely and Cathy has been enjoying "pottering about" in her garden.  To be fair, its much more than pottering about, and the garden looks lovely on it, as today's shot of these tulips will demonstrate.

I love the way that the low late afternoon light has caught the textures of the petals making them look like painted brush strokes.

Its been bread making, roast Sunday lunch (lamb with jersey royals and rhubarb and orange crumble to follow) making, hoovering, washing and ironing for me.  That's the problem with working a 5 day week - you have to get all of this sort of stuff done during your two day weekend. Still, next weekend is a bank holiday in the UK so while we have 5 days of employed work to endure look forward to, at least we have the prospect of a 3 day weekend coming up :-)
