Above And Beyond...

The Milky Way

As most were heading to bed, I was heading to The Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre to meet up with Alyn Wallace whom I was with the previous night. The area is a Dark Sky Reserve and arguably the best place to see stars in the UK. Alyn turned up at 1am and the sky was nice and clear. We were effectivey waiting for the Milky Way Cosmos to appear about 2am which would be seen at its best a couple of hours afterwards.

However, at 3am the clouds came over and the star gazing for the night was over.

The bipfoto was taken next to the Dark Sky Observatory facing towards Pen-y-fan mountain. Seeing the stars here is just awesome and really does put things in perspective. I never get bored and the tiredness is well worth it for the privilege.

With the clouds overhead, I packed up and headed home and Mrs BB wanted me up before midday to meet up with the oldest daughter to go for a walk with her dogs.
