What's Outside My Window...

Dear Diary,

A corner view of my patio...and rain right now.  But the daffodils are at their peak and the grass is green and newly mowed.  Just a few weeks ago the view would have been a wall of white but things changed rapidly and all this rain will encourage more growth and renewal.  I have a very private and secluded back yard and soon, I hope, the labyrinth construction will begin and this view will change.

The sink you see was in the house when I first bought it in 1995 and it is cast iron, a hundred years old.  I had stored it in the barn thinking that one year I would use it.  Now the old pump is hooked up to a water line and I can water flowers or squirrels!  It is a great place to fill with ice to keep drinks cold which I did last year at the garden tour.  No tour this year, thankfully, and I can just enjoy the peace and quiet of my little corner of Maine.
