Weigela Moment

Spilling over the fence and above the sidewalk, these lush abundant weigela blossoms welcome passersby in the neighborhood, which has been losing back yards, empty lots and open spaces. These open places are being replaced by dense multi-storied  apartments which butt up against the sidewalks. My heart is nourished by the natural world, so I am grateful for my back yard garden.
