Lindisfarne Priory

Spent most of today walking on the Island, there's plenty to see and lots of fresh air to breath!  This morning I went down to the Snook and this afternoon the Priory.  The Snook (extra) is quite remote and surrounded by sand dunes at the opposite end of the island to the castle. The tower was once part of a coal mine, the coal being used in the lime kilns by the castle.

Apparently there is a referendum on Holy Island today. The locals are not supporting the local council proposal to sell the land that is currently the car and coach park for housing development...
