Mending

This is especially for Serpentine who requested an update on Fred who was hit by a car three weeks ago, dragged himself home 24 hours later, spent the night in hospital and has since been making a remarkable recovery. His back legs, both the one that had a bone-exposing open wound and the other one that appeared undamaged, were very weak and wobbly at first but now he's able to run downstairs and  walk almost normally. He can't jump or spring and he's spending a  lot of time lolling around as if he knows he's convalescent - well, of course he does. In fact he may have used up all eight spare lives so I hope he'll take care of the one that remains.
