Holy Cross

A late blip from the mini holiday with Mother and Uncle. This was the Holy Cross  Church next to Westgate in Canterbury.   Built in about 1380, it  stopped operating as a church in 1973.  It is now  the Canterbury Guildhall where the Freemen of the city are enrolled and Mayors are sworn in.
I took Mother and Uncle to visit it because my 5x great grandparents Daniel Goodbourn and Elizabeth Nash were married here on 16 Sept 1776. We were disappointed not to be able to get in.
