Great morning at school with the writing topic of "If I ruled the Highlands" inspired by this great video of a young lass & the poem she wrote for Barrack Obama's visit to Scotland The kids did a fabulous job, very mature writing under sub headings of equality, health, poverty, religion, education and one choice of their own which could be serious or more "frivolous" ... some fab work! Then helped mount photographs for tomorrow's photography garden party event.
On the way home the clouds were positively "high definition" in the beautiful blue sky and reflecting in the flat calm sea - no filter used, only thing I have done is crop it very slightly.
Got the dinner made and in the slow cooker, quick stroll with pup then back out to school and a local orienteering competition - little'un had been feeling a bit anxious about it and was fearful about getting lost but she ran with a chum and they did very well in what was a tough course, through areas of thick/dark forests and steep climbs/descents .. not to mention it was a very hot day! A great time and finish position :-) couple of extras show the lovely views on the course.
Dropped some other kiddos off at their home and had a 20 minute turn around to get my kiddo's fed then we were out to big girls prize giving for the junior years of the Academy ... incredibly proud to see her getting distinction with 10 awards (Biology, chemistry, English, French, history, maths, music, PE, physics, admin) 2nd in her whole year with only one person above her getting the maximum 11! She also received an additional award for her commitment to music and to her sport :-) Shame hubby missed it as he's still away.
To top the day off big lad has just heard that he has secured his first summer job, at the golf course!
Enjoying only my 2nd cup of tea of the day, sending hubby video clips & photos ... a great day!
