Pictorial blethers

After the concert ...

Perhaps the most unusual concert venue I've been in - Benmore Galleries, where we sang on Sunday hosted another "Music in the Gardens" this afternoon. We pounded over the wet grass, slightly late, and sat in the lower part of the gallery to listen to our friends in the Grazioso Quartet play a programme ranging from Schubert to Harry Lauder. It was slightly surreal sitting in the warmth of the gallery in waterproof trousers and jacket, steaming gently, while the rain continued to fall relentlessly outside.

And this is the view we came out to. The mist was low on the hills, the rain still dripping, the midges hovering. The air was full of the scent of flowers exotic and native. We went for a walk up the hill and came down drookit. A good way to spend an afternoon ...
