Rotten Apples

The apples on our tree are rubbish this year!
Normally we have more than we can possibly use and they're mostly green and apple shaped. This year there aren't that many and most of them are tiny and misshapen. Lots are even going rotten on the tree because they're all bunched up against each other.
Another casualty of our rubbish Summer......
This is one of the few decent ones.
And it was turned into a tasty tart shortly after this was taken. What Miss E can't do with a packet of Jus-Rol!!
We had a lovely day today - a lazy morning at home and then off to our friends' for a sleepover. The kids were thrilled to see each other (a week is such a long time when you're four!) and I was pretty thrilled with the yummy jumbalaya we had for dinner and the several bottles of our newly discovered favourite drink - Jeremiah Weed Sour Mash.
Miss E and Miss L slept together for the first time on a double mattress on the floor. They went straight to sleep and looked so incredibly sweet curled up together each clutching a soft toy.
Watching them sleep was one of those heart-melting moments.
