"Reflections On The Way Life Used To Be"

My daughter and I took MrQ's Triumph TR4, that he bought new in 1962, to the Matching Green Classic And Sports Car Show. It was a lovely drive in the sunshine along the Essex country lanes following our friends Geoff and Katie in their BMW M3.

I loved seeing the bronze, not a stock colour, Lancia Beta Spider. (Extras) I owned a white 1600 and a red 2000. My favourite car in the show was the Fiat Dino. We asked if Katie could sit in it as it matched her hair. (Extras)

When we got back to the TR a group of people were cooing over the picture books I made recording the life of the vehicle. (Extras) "No, I am not Jackie" I said, "She is one of MrQ's old girlfriends." :)

Today's poem is Homecoming by Wislawa Szymborska. http://www.poetrymagazines.org.uk/magazine/record.asp?id=1939

"Nothing is usual or normal" said WS  I like this poem, it's very direct. When we're stressed we do become childlike.
