Water Gardens

A glorious end to my week off both weather-wise and with a visit to the Water Garden at The Waitrose's farm, Leckford Estate, near Stockbridge in Hampshire on the River Test.  The garden was created by the Beddington family in the 1930's  and further developed by John Spedan Lewis in the 1940’s as a place to reflect and relax.  Even with the the relatively large number of visitors it certainly lived up to its name.

Apart from the lake and water lilies just coming into flower, the Day Lilies (Hemerocallis ) were also putting on a show, and the whole garden was buzzing with bees and hove flies (see extras)
